[Construction Example] Converting a single-story factory into a two-story factory while maintaining the equipment.

Non-stop construction method for factory operations" - Hokuriku Light Metal Co., Ltd. "Cover Build Method

The "Cover Build Method" involves assembling a steel frame to cover an existing building, first constructing the roof and exterior walls to prevent rain and wind from entering. After securing the exterior, the interior of the existing building is demolished, and reconstruction takes place. In the case of Hokuriku Light Metal, which is engaged in metal processing, a partition wall was first established to separate the construction area from the factory operation area, and a new building frame larger than the factory was constructed. Subsequently, the roof and exterior walls of the new building were completed, and while protecting the machinery, the existing building was demolished. Additionally, the second-floor slab inside the new building was constructed, allowing operations to continue without relocating the machinery, thus achieving reconstruction through a two-stage process. Through the Cover Build Method and floor division construction, it was transformed into a spacious two-story factory. 【Construction Targets】 ■ There are immovable machines ■ There is space around the building ■ The existing building is a single-story structure ■ Switching production operations is easy *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Construction Example] Expanding the existing eaves to create an indoor space that is protected from rain.

Construction method that does not stop factory operations - First Plus Co., Ltd. 'Big Roof Method'

The "Big Roof Construction Method" is a technique for safely extending roofs, such as eaves that protrude from buildings. In this case, the customer wished to extend an existing 10-meter eave by an additional 7 meters while also enclosing the entire loading area indoors to allow for work to be done without getting wet from the rain. Therefore, we developed a structural plan that incorporated the "Cover Build Method," constructing a new frame that covers both the extension area and the existing loading eave area. This allowed us to expand the loading area while maintaining operations during construction and enclosing it indoors. Considering the entry and exit of trucks, we adopted aluminum over-slider shutters for the opening doors. The existing eave was integrated into the new roof, resulting in a spacious indoor loading area with sufficient strength. 【Construction Requirements】 ■ There is ample space in front of the building. ■ The existing building has passed inspection. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Factory reconstruction method "Cover Build Method" allows for rebuilding while maintaining factory operations!

Are you having trouble with a machine that won't move? Yoshizawa's unique construction method allows you to maintain factory operations while replacing it.

The "Cover Build Method" is Yoshizawa's unique construction technique that allows for rebuilding while maintaining factory operations. We conduct thorough hearings regarding the main equipment of the factory and its usage frequency, and we carry out the construction under appropriate schedule management to ensure that the building process and factory operations can coexist. First, we assemble steel frames to cover the existing building and construct the roof and exterior walls. After ensuring that rain and wind do not enter from the outside, we dismantle the interior of the existing building and proceed with the rebuilding. [Recommended for such factories!] ■ There are machines that cannot be moved ■ There is space around the building ■ The existing building is a single-story structure ■ It is easy to switch production flow *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Connection Method

Connecting buildings that were separated! You can make effective use of dead space within the site.

The "Connection Construction Method" involves constructing a new building (or an extension) that aligns with the floor level of two existing buildings that are separated by a gap, thereby integrating (linking) the previously disconnected structures. This method allows for the effective use of dead space within the site, enabling operations to continue without being affected by weather conditions when moving between factories. Furthermore, the creation of new pathways in what were originally separate buildings can lead to improvements in productivity and smoother production lines. 【Features】 ■ Integration (linking) of previously disconnected buildings ■ Effective use of dead space within the site ■ Operations can continue without being affected by weather conditions when moving between factories ■ Potential for improvements in productivity and smoother production lines *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Construction Case] Rebuilding the factory without extinguishing the "big pot" fire.

Construction method that does not stop factory operations" Naruse Steel Industry Co., Ltd. "Separate Method

The "Separate Construction Method" is a technique that allows for rebuilding without completely demolishing existing buildings. Instead of new construction after total demolition, it divides the construction period into two phases, enabling the replacement to be carried out while maintaining operations even in densely populated areas where expanding the building space is not possible. In this construction plan, based on the request to switch from the old large furnace to the new one without stopping the operation of the large furnace, a new large furnace was established on the first phase construction side to take over operations from the old large furnace. Additionally, to avoid waste during future factory expansions, the building on the second phase construction side is designed to be suspended from the structural framework of the first phase construction side. This also contributes to reducing the factory's life cycle costs. 【Construction Targets】 ■ There is relocation space on adjacent land. ■ There is no room around the existing building. ■ It is possible to plan the production line across upper and lower floors. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Construction Example] Raised the building by 6 meters to expand the lifting height of the crane inside the factory.

Construction method that does not stop factory operations" Electric Industry Co., Ltd. Kawagoe Factory "Lift-Up Method

The "Lift-Up Method" is a construction technique that raises a building while maintaining seismic strength without dismantling the existing factory structure. In this project, we received a request to increase the crane lifting height due to the aging of the existing traveling crane. First, we conducted an investigation of the seismic resistance and strength of the existing building to confirm its current seismic resistance and strength. We determined that with reinforcement, it could withstand the elevation. During construction, we connected the columns of the raised portion to the existing column tops to enhance strength, and then, using the cover build method, we installed a new roof and walls before dismantling the existing roof from the inside. As a result, the crane lifting height was increased, contributing to improved work efficiency. 【Construction Targets】 ■ There are documents such as drawings and structural calculation sheets. ■ The foundation of the existing building has sufficient strength. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Factory Reconstruction Method "Separate Method" [Achieving Reconstruction Without Stopping the Line]

Are you giving up on rebuilding a factory because there is no space around the existing building? It is possible to rebuild in two phases without stopping the production line!

The "Separate Construction Method" is a technique where instead of completely demolishing an existing building and then constructing a new one, the construction period is divided into two phases, allowing for the rebuilding to take place while maintaining operations. First, machinery is moved to the second phase side, and construction begins on the first phase side. After the first phase is completed, the machinery is moved back from the second phase side to the first phase side. By completing the second phase afterward, the factory can operate at full capacity without disruption. [Recommended for such factories!] ■ There is relocation space in the adjacent area ■ There is no room around the existing building ■ It is possible to plan the production line across different floors *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Cover Build Method

A typical construction method of "rebuilding while operating"! The roof and exterior walls are installed first.

The "Cover Build Method" is one of the representative construction methods of Yoshizawa Architectural Structural Design, made possible by precise structural calculations, allowing for "reconstruction while in operation." Machines and equipment within the factory that cannot be moved are left in place, while a steel frame is assembled over the existing factory, with the roof and exterior walls installed first. After ensuring that rain and wind do not enter, the existing buildings within the new structure are gradually dismantled while the reconstruction proceeds. 【Features】 ■ Made possible by precise structural calculations ■ New buildings are constructed to cover the existing ones ■ Machines and equipment that cannot be moved within the factory are left as they are *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

"Separate construction method" allows for construction to be done in halves without stopping the factory!

Recommended for factories with no space around existing buildings. You can rebuild in phases while maintaining operations.

The "Separate Construction Method" is a technique that allows for the rebuilding of a facility in phases (Phase 1 and Phase 2) without demolishing the existing building, while maintaining operations throughout the construction period. First, machinery is moved to the Phase 2 side, and construction begins on the Phase 1 side. Once Phase 1 is completed, the machinery is moved back from Phase 2 to Phase 1. After that, Phase 2 is completed, allowing the factory to operate at full capacity without any disruption. This method is recommended for factories that have no space around the existing building, and it is also possible to plan the production line across different floors. 【Features】 - Construction is done in halves without stopping the factory - Rebuilding is done in phases without demolishing the existing building - The factory can operate at full capacity without disruption - Recommended for factories with no space around the existing building - Planning the production line across different floors is possible *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Lift-Up Method

A construction method that raises the height without demolishing the building. The building remains as it is while the roof height is increased.

We would like to introduce a case where Denki Kogyo Co., Ltd. adopted the "Lift-Up Method." Due to the aging of the existing traveling crane, we received a request to increase the crane's lifting height. In the construction process, we connected the columns of the raised portion to the existing column heads to enhance strength, and then, using the cover build method, we installed a new roof and walls before dismantling the existing roof from the inside. As a result of this construction, the crane's lifting height was increased, allowing for more flexible crane operation, which improved work efficiency. [Case Study] ■ Challenge: Increase crane lifting height ■ Result: The crane's lifting height was increased, allowing for more flexible crane operation, which improved work efficiency. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
